I turned on my old PowerMac 5300 today in an attempt to snarf some pictures off of my ancient PDC-3000 camera – and all seemed well, but the mouse refused to work. I tried removing a few things on the ADB chain, to no avail. It appeared to be getting power from the keyboard. Odd.
Plugged in a secondary ADB mouse scavenged from a Mac II. Still no work. Huh. Replaced the tinier ‘Apple Keyboard II’ with my Apple Design keyboard. Seems to be working, but the machine itself is unhappy and crashy, which is odd, considering it’s pretty stock 8.6, and I’ve got frivolous extensions turned off – it must not like mornings.
