After making my most recent additions to the phpBB code base of PHP syntax highlighting and the usermode toggle based upon ‘authenticated’ users for the login schema, I’ve opted to further close the gap.

Unlike default phpBB boards, mine now also touts the ability to discern if a local user is accessing as a ‘Guest’, and as such will not print links to user’s profiles, or their most recent posts. This not only cuts down on unnecessary spider accesses, but also malicious spiders, which seek to obtain email addresses for spam lists. This in no away affects any ‘normal’ user, and the only drawback is that guests are unable to view a user’s profile.
