I got fed up with my antiquated layout and multiple rewrite heirarchies to attain the same basic data. Given the extensible nature of my tools I’ve been creating (and updating frequently lately – hence my lack of posts, et al), I was still using two different interfaces for my diary and the rest of the system.

Initially, I did this to ensure that the two would be entirely seperate, but they already are. Importing the data and setting a different type not only makes integrated searchign easier, but my own work quite a bit more trivial.

So, I dumped my diary table into the same table shared by the main utility, after flagging it as a diary type and other required changes, of course. I’ve overhauled my indexing and search functions (currently, they’ll note the difference between a diary and a main entry – I’ll be making it more in-depth and appending toggles, blah, blah, blah…), but I’m rambling. It’s 4:30, and I’m a couple of hours past sleepytime. G’night.
