XHTML 1.1. And, ya know, I kind of like it.

In a few short weeks, I’ve gone from nearly-XHTML compliant to XHTML 1.0 Transitional, all the way around (at least, with my external toolset) to XHTML 1.1.

I don’t really like the web, per-se, with all of the cruft and annoying things it has, but XML is starting to seduce me – I’ve used it otherwise, and, well, it doesn’t always make sense, but I love it as compared to the old SGML we had before. I’ll never forgive the web for killing gopher, though. ;)

I’ve removed all tables from my QuickBlog-based database, and am slowly going to go through and prune and update my old XHTML 1.0 friendly data to make it entirely XHTML. (For instance, since I was reluctant before, rather than spanning a class for a font, I’d call – This is not valid XHTML 1.1.)

With all of these wonderful standards I’m now adhering to; It’d be nice to see someone else adopt them – say, the people who write the software that’s supposed to render it?

I’m stuck nesting my data elements within sub

tags because the browsers are too stupid to know how to center. I mean, my layout is pretty simplistic, right? Shouldn’t it JUST WORK? I guess not. Hrrm. Now to decide on soem new CSS templates so I can make proper italics, bold, et al..
